NBA Playoffs: Celtics defeat Cavaliers in Game 4; Thunder beat Mavericks to even series

The Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-102 in Game 4 of the second-round, to take a 3-1 series lead.

Jayson Tatum scored 33 points and Jaylen Brown added 27 to help seal the win against the Cavaliers, who were without point guard Donovan Mitchell who’s sidelined with a calf strain. The Cavs’ Darius Garland scored 30 points with seven assists, with Evan Mobley finishing with 19 and nine rebounds and Caris LeVert and Max Strus each adding 15, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Celtics.

Game 5 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday in Boston at 7 p.m.

The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Dallas Mavericks 100-96 in Game of the Western Conference semifinals with a 100-96 win on Monday night at American Airlines Center.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 34 points (22 of those in the second half), while Chet Holmgren had 18 points, nine rebounds and four blocks, Luguentz Dort scored 17 points and Jalen Williams had 14 points and nine boards for Oklahoma City to even the series at two games apiece.
