The Miami Dolphins have signed All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks to a three-year, $51.3 million contract extension. Agent Erik Burkhardt confirmed the agreement to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday., ensuring Brooks remains in Miami through the peak of his career. The deal includes $35 million in guaranteed money and places the 28-year-old among the top six highest-paid inside linebackers in the NFL by average annual value.
The contract extension comes on the heels of a dominant 2025 campaign in which Brooks established himself as one of the league’s most effective defenders. He led the NFL with a career-high 183 tackles while adding 3.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss, earning first-team All-Pro honors. Originally joining Miami on a three-year deal in 2024 after beginning his career with the Seattle Seahawks, Brooks has started every game across his two seasons with the franchise.
The financial commitment positions Miami’s defense for stability as the franchise moves forward under new head coach Jeff Hafley. With this agreement, Miami completes a sweeping plan outlined by first-year general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan to retain the organization’s foundational roster pieces. Sullivan previously designated Brooks, running back De’Von Achane, and center Aaron Brewer as the team’s primary core players. Achane agreed to a four-year extension in May, while Brewer finalized a three-year deal in June, making Brooks the final piece of the front office’s primary offseason priorities.
Throughout contract negotiations, Brooks chose not to hold out or miss any voluntary spring workouts, participating fully alongside his teammates to build cohesion ahead of training camp. Explaining his decision during OTAs in May, Brooks emphasized his commitment to self-improvement and team unity. “For me, I know I need to get better as a player so that’s why I show up,” Brooks stated. “And then obviously, I never want to give the wrong message to the team or to my teammates.”
