I acquired the “radio bug” at the age of five when I started listening to the radio. It seemed to be the coolest job in the world. When I was ten I became completely hooked when my dad took my brother and me on a tour of WDRC in Hartford, when it was still at 750 Main Street.
I began working there, after they moved to Bloomfield, while I was a sophomore in high school. My first “job” was mailing out the weekly “Big D Dial a Hit” contest 45’s every week. My “salary” consisted of 3 albums a week! This was perfect for me, as I would have spent my money on buying records anyway.
I’ve done every shift imaginable in my 40 plus year broadcasting career and most every job…board operator, morning show producer, promotions, music scheduler and programmer, overnight operator, Production Director, Creative Services Director, Traffic Manager and on-air announcer, and am thrilled to help you get home every weekday afternoon on KOOL Radio!
I love the television shows I watched during my youth…All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Barney Miller, Lost in Space, The Addams Family and of course, WKRP in Cincinnati! Although my favorite actor and actress go back further than that…if a film starring Humphrey Bogart or Norma Shearer comes on, I’m glued to the TV.
My interests include the Pittsburgh Steelers, Boston Red Sox and collecting records and CD’s, as I have a pretty large collection.
My goals on KOOL Radio are to give you information to help you get through your afternoon, give you some music tidbits that you may not be aware of, and a few laughs along the way. I hope you can join me every weekday afternoon from 3-7 on KOOL Radio!
